About Me

Sibi Thomas is a Kerala police officer, actor, writer, and loving father. He came into the limelight after his debut movie Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum in 2017.

Born on December 18, 1972, in Kanhangad, Kasaragod, Sibi Thomas has always worked with a big dream in mind. It wouldn’t be wrong to say ‘he was destined for success’, as from a very young age he has been known to excel in almost every stage of life.

Sibi Thomas did his Primary education at GLPS Chully & GHSS Maloth Kasaba in Kasargod, Kerala where he excelled in studies and was elected the School Leader at the young age of 16, in the year 1988.

He further went on to do his Graduation in B.Sc. Chemistry at Nirmalagiri College in Kuthuparamba, Kannur, Kerala. It was here that Sibi Thomas found his love for acting and even achieved the Best Actor award for 3 consecutive years (1989 - 1991). In 1992, he became the Secretary of the Fine Arts Club in the same college as well.

After completing his Degree, Sibi Thomas qualified for the Entrance Exam conducted by FTII, Pune (Film & TV Institute of India). He also attended the Orientation Course for Motion Picture Photography in 1994 but was unfortunately disqualified in the Final Interview for the 3-year Diploma Course. Although this was a major setback for Sibi Thomas, he took it in a positive light and moved ahead, but never forgot his dream of excelling in the Arts, as he eventually did.

Following this, he joined the Kerala Police Department as Sub-Inspector and also worked in the Intelligence Bureau as part of deputation. Sibi Thomas has served 20 years as a brilliant police officer until now, with several awards and accolades to his name. He recently took charge of the DySP Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau.

Along with his official career, Sibi’s interest in acting and writing has also led to some amazing movies, a book, and interesting scripts which were written mainly for the Malayalam Film Industry.

Sibi Thomas has a loving wife, Ms Elizabeth Jacob (Retired Nurse), and 3 proud children who would be looking to follow in his footsteps - Helen Sibi (student of B.Sc. Physics), Karolin Sibi (student), and Edwin Sibi (student).

Dec 08, 2003 - Joined the Kerala Police Dept as Sub-Inspector after completing training from Kerala Police Academy. Started his career from Ernakulam and served the following districts:

• Ernakulam city
• Kannur
• Kasargod
• Kozhikode rural
• Wayanad

June 01, 2010- Joined in the Intelligence Bureau as part of Central Deputation and served there for 3 years.

April 19, 2011- Promoted as ‘Circle Inspector of Police’ and allowed to continue working in the Intelligence Bureau.

June 01, 2013- Repatriated from Intelligence Bureau and joined back to Kerala Police.

He has written a crime-thriller novel in Malayalam named 'Kuttasammatham' and the book was published by Mathrubhumi books in 2022.

June 01, 2010- Joined in the Intelligence Bureau as part of Central Deputation and served there for 3 years.

He has written a story and script for the legendary Director cum Cameraman Sri. Rajeev Ravi for the movie named ‘Kuttavum Sikshayum’, released in the year of 2022.

June 01, 2013- Repatriated from Intelligence Bureau and joined back to Kerala Police.

• 2012 - Achieved ‘Sukrithi’ for Best Performance in the Intelligence Bureau.
• 2013 - Attained 68 ‘Good Service’ entries from the Kerala Police Dept.
• 2014 - Awarded ‘Badge of Honour’ for Detective Excellency from the DGP.
• 2015 - Awarded ‘Chief Minister’s Police Medal’ for Meritorious Service.
• 2019 - Awarded the ‘Badge of Honour’ for Special Operation in the Bureau.
• 2020 - Awarded the ‘Badge of Honour’ for Excellence in Investigation in the Bureau.

Achievements as an Actor & Writer:

• 2018 - ‘Kalabhavan Mani Memorial Award’ for Best Supporting actor for the movie Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum.
• 2019 - ‘Special Jury Puraskaram’ from Malayala Puraskara Samiti for the movie Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum.
• 2022 - ‘Malayala Puraskaram’ for the best Malayalam novel 'Kuttasammatham'.
